Making Music Fun!
Beginners from 3 + yrs!
Basic Theory foundations

I am a music teacher, performer, event organiser, mother and I recently set up a not-for profit organisation - London Ukulele Trust.

Through my teaching I provide a great introduction to musicality, singing, rhythm and tone with a great emphasis on having fun! I believe music to be a great tool for confidence building, presentation skills, concentration, communication and language development, literacy development, mathematics and relaxation

Piano provides a great foundation and is useful for learning basic theory, handy for songwriting and for anyone wanting to go on to learn another instrument. Ukulele cannot fail to put a smile on your face and is a great accompaniment to any budding singers. For info about performances, events and The London Ukulele Trust click on the links above.

Ukulele

A great instrument for all ages but particularly good for children and any adults who think they have come late into picking up an instrument! It is easy learn so instantly gratifying and is very portable and inclusive. We can learn most pop songs and explore the classical side of ukulele also by learning TAB and how to read melodies.

I offer Grades with RGT at West London University. These are great for giving focus and is a million times more relaxed than ABRSM so a great introduction to the music exam process. They have great melodies and opportunities to choose your own pieces. To date I have 100% pass rate with 95% Distinction. I am really passionate about this instrument and all its potential, so much so I set up a charity London Ukulele Trust!

I also work with AGE UK Richmond running courses and a weekly club which we call the Patch Ukulele Band as we meet in The Cabbage Pub in Twickenham!

Piano

Using a technique called 'Dog and Birds' we work on rhythm, pitch and tone, helping to develop musicality and our inner ear. With the younger children we work through a story introducing them to different characters symbolising different notes i.e. Dog for D, B for Bird. Piano is great for developing concentration and is loads of fun!! I don't offer grades in piano as my passion and skill is to introduce a love for the instrument and to get students to the stage where they are ready to commit to the practice that is required once you start doing Grades.
